over five tons of solid gold and over 700 years old, it was encased in concrete & clay until the 1950's when it was being moved and the outer covering was cracked - only then people realised that inside was the world's largest solid gold Buddha image.
located in Wat Traimit, a small modest temple near Bangkok's Chinatown and a short walk from Hua Lamphong station
